FOREVER 21: VISUAL MERCHANDISER

August 2018-Present

I am responsible for creating and maintaining product displays to enhance the customers in-store experience. My main area of focus is the accessories department which includes jewelry, fashion accessories, lingerie and shoes. I sort through shipment by identifying key items that support the current storyline determined by the company. With each new update I analyze the style packs and planograms provided to determine the direction of each display.
Since entering this position the stores accessory sales have increased and the amount of zero-seller units has decreased. I successfully implemented a strategy to reduce the lowest selling skus to 7%. After completely reworking the lingerie section the next month the sales increased by 60 percent. This is the type of data that motivates me to work harder everyday.

ROSS STORES: FRONT-END SUPERVISOR

September 2017-May 2018

I was promoted at Ross to Front-End Supervisor after the conclusion of my internship. In this position, I was the main customer service representative and a point of contact for management on customer status and employee work flow. This meant I kept the front-end of the store running smoothly and efficiently at all times.
When needed, I was a Back-Up Manager where I answered customer questions, managed the break schedule and lead my team. I often assisted employees in creating and maintaining personal goals and recognized them when they succeeded.

ROSS STORES: RETAIL LEADER INTERN

June 2017-September 2017

This was a 10-week internship where I learned all the essential functions and responsibilities of an Assistant Store Manager. Each week I focused on a different area of the position where I was tasked with activities accordingly. By the end of the 10-weeks, I was able to be the main manager on duty where I lead a team and worked on merchandising projects. The internship concluded with a presentation to the District Manager, various Store Managers and peers where I gave recommendations on how to improve a neighboring Ross store. The recommendations were based on the five key areas of focus for the company and how that store could improve in each category.
My biggest takeaways were gaining real life management experience, being able to speak to the business through interpreting data and having an in-depth understanding of what their consumers experience at the retail level. Also, I was able use seasonal planograms to merchandise displays as well as create my own based on what merchandise we received each week.

KOHL'S: SALES ASSOCIATE

October 2013-August 2015

This was my first exposure to retail and where my passion for this industry began. I gained customer service skills by working behind the jewelry counter and customer service desk. My responsibilities were to keep the fitting room clean and organized while also answering customer calls, recovering the sales floor and providing overall great customer service. Some of my shifts were dedicated to only merchandising displays, updating signage and replenishment. I became the lead closer for their largest department because of my ability to multi-task.
